MEDFORD — From parenting seminars to talks exclusively for men, Paul Coughlin delivers wisdom with sincerity that will electrify any church body. He tailors each message to fit the audience with a collection of stories and real life testimonies.
From his best-seller No More Christian Nice Guy, to Married but not Engaged, co-written with his wife, Sandy, as well as his offerings for parents, No More Jellyfish, Chickens, or Wimps, Paul brings insight that has left audiences from Focus on the Family to local churches ready to engage in their life and the lives of those around them.
His latest book, Unleashing Courageous Faith, has just been released.
Paul credits Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and Dr. Elton Trueblood (a Quaker author of the Humor of Christ) as having the most profound impact on his ministry.
“My message is about love … a much more muscular love,” he said. “In regard to Martin Luther King’s example: Shouldn’t Christianity be useful? We should be taking some hills, fighting...
for people who can’t fight for themselves ... We create people without courage and then expects them to be courageous.”
Paul also has been the host of a radio talk show in southern Oregon for the past 15 years and has been involved with multiple others including the Dove Radio Network and the Paul Thomas Show. C-SPAN, the New York Times, and numerous radio and television stations across the country have interviewed him. His articles have appeared in several publications, including New Man, Faithworks, and Ministries Today. He has also been an editor of a weekly newspaper and a radio station program director.
Paul and his wife Sandy, a billing specialist, have been married for 15 years and have lived in Medford, OR, for the past 18 years. They have three children Elliot, 16, Garrett, 14, Abby, 12. Sandy is active in the community and their children's schools.
Cynicism is gossip with hair on its chest.
